Paul O’Brien Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Paul O'Brien is CEO of Plan International Ireland. With a career spanning 30 years in development and humanitarian work he has lived and worked in a number of developing countries, including: Kenya, Sudan, Liberia, Bangladesh and Tanzania. A senior leader in Ireland’s NGO sector for the last 14 years Paul still travels extensively in his work with Plan International Ireland.
Donal Maher Head of Finance
Nenagh native, Donal, is one of the more experienced Plan International Ireland staff, joining the organisation in 2006.
Dualta Roughneen Head of Programmes
Dualta joined Plan International Ireland in 2009 after completing a Masters in Human Rights in UCD. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, and was appointed Head of Programmes in February 2016.
Anne-Marie McCarthy Emergency Programmes Manager
Anne-Marie joined Plan International Ireland in May 2016 with 20 years’ experience in the international development and humanitarian sectors. She has supported programmes in Asia, Africa and Latin America with her most recent visits to Plan International programmes in Egypt, Nigeria and Cameroon.
Maria McLaughlin Development Programmes Manager
Maria joined Plan in March 2017 with over 10 years’ experience in technical advice, research and programme management in long term development work in Africa and Asia.
Emma Hennessy Corporate & Foundations Officer
Emma joined Plan International Ireland in April 2017, having previously worked as programmes officer for Edmund Rice Development.
Emily Barton Events Officer
Emily joined Plan International Ireland in May 2017 as Events Officer. She has over 6 years’ experience in the strategic, commercial and logistical project management of events, corporate, experiential and large scale outdoor events.
Lisya Fins Digital Marketing Officer
Lisya joined Plan International Ireland in September 2016; with a background in digital marketing and online advertising. After graduating from a BA degree on Sociology and MSc on Social Policy, she joined Google as an account strategist with a never ending passion for social impact. She then worked as an account manager at a digital performance agency for various clients including not-for-profit organizations.
Ciara Jordan Media and Communications Officer
Ciara joined Plan International Ireland in 2016 as Media and Communications Officer. She is a news junkie who has worked in media for more than 9 years. Before working in communications for other International NGOs, she worked as a journalist.
Louise Cribbin Donor Relations Officer
Louise joined Plan Ireland in May, 2014. Louise has previously worked for organisations such as UNICEF Ireland and Sightsavers International.
Siobhan McCanny Management Accountant
Siobhan joined Plan Ireland as an Accounts Assistant in August 2011. Originally from Tyrone, Siobhan moved to Dublin in November 2011 after taking three years out travelling to Australia and New Zealand.

An experienced accounting professional, Ronan is a keen runner and has spent over 10 years working overseas managing large development programmes.

Barbara joined Plan International Ireland in September 2012 with more than 15 years’ experience in the International Development and Humanitarian sectors.

Annette joined Plan International Ireland in October 2013 as Education and Advocacy Programme Coordinator.
Rebecca O'Halloran Development Education Officer
Rebecca joined Plan International Ireland in April, 2015 and has worked in Development Education for over 8 years, starting as an intern in the Africa Centre. She holds a BA in Politics, Sociology & Legal Science, and an LLB, both form N.U.I. Galway. She also completed an MA in Development from DCU in 2008.

Deirdre joined Plan in July 2017, and has many years’ experience working in the international development sector.

Hailing from the United States, Lauren is an integral part of Plan International Ireland's Development team, and when not doing development, she likes to write post cards and home brew!
Stella Cotorcea Programme Support Officer (Emergencies)
Stella joined Plan International Ireland as an Intern, and is now a full time member of our DRM Team. A Masters graduate in Human Rights, Stella loves discovering new books, cultures and music.
Linda Fuhrmann Programme Support Officer (Emergencies)
A dedicated humanitarian worker, Linda joined Plan International Ireland in September 2015 after working in West Africa in response to the Ebola crisis.
Emilia Sorrentino Education in Emergencies Specialist
Emilia has a background in Education in Emergencies and Psycho-Social Support. She has spent the last four years in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (Gaza and the West Bank) where she worked as Programme Manager and later as Country Director for an Italian NGO.
David Willaims Programme Support Officer (Emergencies)
David joined Plan International Ireland’s Disaster Risk Management Unit in 2014, and is a Chartered Structural Engineer.
A native of Westmeath, Aidan joined Plan Ireland in May 2011. A graduate in social sciences, Aidan was previously Director of International Service Ireland (ISI), supporting people with disabilities in West Africa and South America.
Gillian Quinn Gender and Inclusion Project Officer (Plan International)
Gillian joined Plan International in November 2014 and is currently working as a Gender and Inclusion Project Officer with Plan International Headquarters.
Lisa Gallagher Development Programme Intern
Lisa joined Plan International Ireland in June 2017. A key part of her role is to be the link between the Development Programmes Team and the Public Engagement Team, to support proposal priorities.
Lieke van Tooren Disaster Risk Management Intern
Lieke joined Plan in July 2017. She is in the final year of her master in International Humanitarian Action at UCD and interning for the Disaster Risk Management team. The focus of her internship is Education in Emergencies and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Lake Chad region.
