Because I am a Girl I ask …. why gender inequality still exists.
Because I am a Girl I believe …. Everyone should be equal.
Because I am a Girl I hope …. That the media will no longer heavily influence society (females particularly) to look a certain way. I hope that all sizes, choices and appearances are accepted, rather than judged or influenced.
Because I am a Girl I wonder …. What the Suffragettes would think of today’s society.
Because I am a Girl I dream …. Of being successful, and perhaps inspiring someone, someday.
Because I am a Girl I remember …. Playing around with nail varnish and experimenting with different colors – nothing has changed!
Because I am a Girl I like …. Makeup, glitter and the occasional soppy film.
Because I am a Girl I dislike …. Bad hair days!
Because I am a Girl I feel …. That there’s a long way to go before all countries and cultures expel gender inequality, or the notion of viewing males as being more powerful. I also feel proud that female authors are receiving the same amount of recognition as male authors, I can’t help but wonder what some deceased authors would make of their increasing popularity!
