Why Sponsorship Is The Answer

Child sponsorship is an effective and ethical way for you to make an immediate and lasting improvement to the lives of the world’s poorest children.

When you sponsor a child, you can actually see the impact you are having and how you are helping the boy or girl you sponsor and you can follow their progress every step of the way.

It is your commitment to your sponsored child that allows Plan International to design, deliver and implement quality, sustainable programmes that help your sponsored child, their family and entire community.

Your sponsorship ensures your sponsored child has the chance to go to school, to eat a healthy meal each day, to be safe and healthy and to have a roof over their head and food in their belly.

Results of numerous studies have shown that children who are sponsored are more likely to stay in school longer than their peers who are not sponsored. They are also more likely to be able to find a job in the future and perhaps even become a leader in their communities.

In Uganda a study by the University of San Francisco found that children who were sponsored were 42% more likely to finish their secondary education program and 83% more likely to finish university than those not in the program. As well as providing a child with the essentials that they need to survive, such as clean water, food and healthcare, this education will help them to break out of the cycle of poverty

Sponsorship allows children to make a real difference in their communities, and your support is invaluable to that. Your donation means that at a young age they are already prominent change-makers and are making a real difference in the lives of their loved ones. Encouraging them in this work is one of the most important things you can do for them.
