This is a 12 day trip of a lifetime to Tanzania to climb 5,895m to the Uhuru Peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Trek through every ecological system you can imagine before hitting the artic summit in all its glory and the adventure doesn’t stop at the peak as we will travel over the Serengeti to visit Plan International’s work first hand! This challenge is not to be laughed at, and most certainly not to be missed!
Rising from the Savannah of East Africa to the staggering height of 5,895m – conquering its unmistakable snow-capped peak is a realistic aspiration for you.
We’re proposing 12 day trip with a 7 day route along the mountain’s Machame path, often referred to as the “Whiskey” route. Throughout the journey, you will be guided by experienced and skilled mountaineers who will ensure you enjoy your journey to the summit, witness the spectacular sunrises and sunsets see some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world and stand on the highest summit on the African continent.
What’s more you’ll be given a unique opportunity to visit a local community to see exactly where your fundraising efforts are benefiting. Plan started working in Tanzania in 1991 supporting vulnerable children and their families access health care, education, safe sanitation and water, productive livelihoods and protection.
The cost of participating covers international flights and transfers, local accommodation, guaranteed entry to the race and in-country travel. All funds raised will go towards our ongoing development programmes in Africa.
