When Disasters Strike,
Plan International is There

Plan International mobilises people and resources quickly when disaster strikes to protect children and ensure their immediate and long-term needs are met.
From natural disasters to conflict zones, we are on-the-ground doing what is needed where it is needed the most.

DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT-OUR GOAL

For children and young people to grow up safely in resilient communities and realise their right to protection and assistance in emergencies.

In times of disaster, children are particularly vulnerable.  Separation from family and friends causes uncertainty, anxiety and shock, with a significant impact on children’s emotional well-being. Our disaster response work focuses on children’s urgent needs, such as food and water. We then prioritise child protection and education, to help re-establish a sense of security and normality.
