Disasters are temporary
their effects can last a lifetime

The fallout from disasters and climate change are affecting huge numbers of children in Plan International Ireland programme countries. We strive to ensure that gains in education and household economics aren't lost when disasters hit.

 DISASTER RISK REDUCTION. OUR GOAL.

For children and young people to live in communities which are resilient to natural disasters, environmental degradation and conflict.

That children and young people act as agents of change in making their own lives and communities safer and more resilient.

Plan International Ireland delivers Education in Emergencies and Child Protection in Emergencies so that children can continue their education in safe environments during times of conflict.

EDUCATION IN EMERGENCIES

Education is critical for all children, but it is especially urgent for the tens of millions of children affected by emergencies. Yet, for millions of children in disaster situations,  the right to education remains an unfulfilled promise.

Plan International Ireland provides education in disasters and child protection in disasters for children at risk whose schooling has been interrupted.
