Kevin Carroll

Kevin Carroll has been a member of the Plan International Board since January 2016. Currently a member of the Programmes Sub-Committee, Kevin has a wealth of experience in international development.

Originally a secondary teacher, Kevin has worked in development aid for almost 30 years, of which almost 11 years was spent in five postings overseas.  This has included work at management level, both in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Irish Aid) and in the NGO sector, as well as on a consultancy basis, in over 20 countries in Africa and Asia.

He has also lectured in development studies on a part-time basis at University College, Dublin.  Kevin retired from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in April 2014 but returned as the Department’s Ebola Coordinator from October 2014 – June 2015.

Kevin is currently a Research Fellow with the Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction at the School of Law and Government, Dublin City University and also undertakes occasional consultancy work.
