Introducing our Ambassador …

Maria Walsh

We’re  thrilled that Maria Walsh, the 2014 Rose of Tralee, has come on board and signed up to be our organisation’s latest Ambassador.

Known for her deep commitment to youth and gender equality, we’re excited to be working with Maria.

Over the next number of months and years, you’re going to see a lot more of Maria and Plan International Ireland working together to promote child rights and, in particular, girls rights.

A Rose to … Ghana

In May 2016, Maria had the opportunity to visit one of our programme countries, Ghana to see first hand the type of work that Plan International does for children, their families, and their communities.

After returning to Ireland, Maria said this:

Too many people talk about gender equality, but do little about it. Plan International is on the ground, changing attitudes, promoting education and making life better for girls and young women.
