Plan International Ireland and LinkedIn – Turning CSR on it’s head

When started as a chat a coffee has revolutionised the CSR vision of a global giant, and delivered real and lasting impact to thousands of children.

You see, we hit the idea – Calling for a Cause. As opposed to ask Linkedin staff  to fundraise, we ask them to leverage their core skill – as sales professionals … and 3 years in, we are going from strength to strength.

The idea is simple – Linkedin staff regularly give one hour of their time to contact our donors to say thank, to give a reminder, give an update on a programme. It’s called donor retention and it is working.

“Participants in “Calling for a Cause” felt rewarded by the humanitarian impact of their efforts. Meanwhile, Plan International Ireland was happy to have this added resource. We look forward to partnering with them throughout the year and hope to replicate this program again”

Our relationship with Linkedin over the last few years has been vitally important to us. Outside of the obvious monetary value, the enthusiasm and energy from everyone involved the Calling for a Cause campaign has been so encouraging. We look forward to continuing our relationship well into the future and, are happy to discuss similar options with your business.

Corporate, CBRE, Madrid- Lisbon cycle

CBRE International began a three year partnership with Plan International in March 2014.

During this partnership  CBRE’s EMEA offices have pledged to raise €850,000 to help provide an education to more than 135,000 children, particularly girls, in Sierra Leone.

Enda Luddy, Managing Director, CBRE Ireland, said:

“Our new partnership with Plan International forms a central part of our responsible business commitments, and is focused on an area where we believe we can make a real difference. Tackling child poverty is key to realising the potential of millions of children growing up in Africa today, particularly girls. We are proud to be involved in such an important programme.”

Staff in CBRE Ireland have taken on a number of challenges, including a 5 day 800km cycle from Madrid to Lisbon in May, and will also have a team taking part in the BMW Frankfurt Marathon in October.
