Sarah has worked for over 10 years in development aid, in the International NGO sector as Monitoring and Evaluation manager as part of humanitarian responses in Haiti and South Sudan, and in development programming for youth in Kosovo.
She has been an external evaluator of a career development programme for researchers for the World Health Organisation and has designed and led grant writing workshops in English, French and Spanish on behalf of the European Commission (EDCTP) for Sub Saharan African researchers.
She has experience in advocacy at EU level, with a focus on ensuring funding for poverty related neglected disease research and aid projects within the EU multi-annual framework budgeting process.
She is fluent in Spanish and French and holds a masters in International Peace and Conflict from Trinity College Dublin. She has been published in the peer reviewed Journal for Gender & Development Volume 20, 2012 – Issue 2: Post-disaster Humanitarian Work.
Sarah enjoys reading, travel and wandering around the limestone hills in her native Burren, Co.Clare.
