Lorraine developed an interest in international development during the third year of her Business and Economics degree in Trinity College Dublin, where she took the ‘Economics of Less Developed Countries’ module. This inspired her to apply to do a Masters in Development Studies in UCD, which she completed in 2007. During her Masters she travelled to Uganda and carried out primary research for her thesis ‘Universal Primary Education in Uganda a quality or flawed approach’.
After graduating from her Masters Lorraine worked in Deloitte Consulting and EBS, Treasury Risk and finally got her break into development in 2010 after a monitoring position became available with TMS International. In this role Lorraine spent a year monitoring European Commission projects in the Western Balkans, Africa and Asia. Following this she joined PM Groups IFI team and worked as a Project Manager working on Asian Development Bank, European Commission and World Bank projects. In this role she worked on projects in both the Western Balkans and in South East Asia.
Lorraine is an active volunteer and has volunteered with Trinity Access Programme, A-Z Children’s Charity, Skerries Sodo Group and most recently Lamha Suas. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, skiing and swimming.
