Suzanne joined Plan as Head of Programmes in February 2015. She holds a master’s degree in African politics from SOAS in London, and a history master’s from Cambridge University.
Prior to joining Plan, Suzanne spent ten years with Trocaire, the Irish Catholic agency that tackles injustice in the developing world. She was Regional Manager for Asia, with a focus on governance, gender and humanitarian programming in Myanmar, Cambodia, Timor Leste, India and Pakistan. Prior to that she worked for the United Nations in Iran and Somalia.
She has a strong commitment to social justice, believing the opposite of poverty is not wealth, its equality.
She’s a busy mum of two small children, and when she’s not reading their bed-time stories, she’s an avid reader in her own right. Her one big passion is sailing, but only in hot climes, so opportunities in Ireland are limited!
